Conversational and Therapeutic Metaphors and Trance in Metaphor - Positive Emergent (Solution) Storying and Restorying 

The intentional use of metaphor or storytelling is a powerful indirect method of accessing unconscious resources, building empowering internal processes, and positive reference experiences. Metaphors and therapeutic stories are tools to be utilized skillfully to introduce ideas and suggestions, embedded commands, and access client reference experiences and resource states. Utilizing metaphor as a trance induction or conversational trance provides the opportunity to tailor and design solutions to client issues or problems with a future orientation and enhances the possibilities of effective behavioral change integration. Identifying and utilizing hypnotic phenomena to provide metaphorical solutions in inductions is an art form in and of itself.
