Phil Tenaglia, M.A. is a licensed psychologist, school psychologist and family therapist. He has over 30 years of experience in working in classrooms and schools, working collaboratively to support teachers and students. He has served in both regular and special education settings, specializing in consultation, counseling and crisis intervention.
Phil's approach is based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Training (ACT). ACT is an evidenced-approach grounded in science that seeks to promote valued living and reduce suffering. He is also a certified ACT Matrix practitioner and conducts onlne training for individual practitioners, businesses and organizations worldwide. In 2016 Phil was named the school psychologist of the year by the New Jersey Association of School Psychologists for his innovative work in the schools.
Phil has a highly skilled workshop presenter who brings his many years of expertise as both an in-person and online trainer to his work. His passion is to spread psychological flexibility and mindful relationships in education and beyond.
The ACT Matrix is a visual diagram that is used in schools and many other settings to quickly build collaboration and cooperation. It is a transformative approach to social-emotional learning and development while building shared purposes to mutually agreed upon goals.
