Vincent Torre Bongolan is a Data Scientist by profession with more than 17 years of experience in Research, Statistics, Data Science, Analytics and IT services by providing insights and services to the stakeholders.
He started offering consultancy with his fellow students in the University until he became known for offering statistical services. Through referrals, his network grows reaching nearby and international clients. 2010 when he decided to set-up a freelance and client company through Upwork.com where he offer his services to individuals, company and organizations registered to the online job platform. Through Upwork.com, he was able to get projects from international market. Year 2014, when he put-up and registered Statistics doctor Consultancy to the government to make it as a full-blown Research, Statistics, and Analytics company servicing other businesses in Manila.
Currently, he is holding the IT Service Management Analyst (Sr. Data Scientist) and AI Lead for Innovation at the Asian Development Bank (ADB). As ADB’s Data Scientist, his main role is to transform ADB to become the most innovative and most advanced banking institution using the latest trends in Technology. He is proud to receive his first award in Artificial Intelligence when he created and build the ChatBot for IT Service Desk and build a Voice Command for Pepper Robot from Softbank Robotics.
Prior to ADB, he holds the role of an Associate Data Science Manager at Accenture Philippines. His main role as a Data Scientist is to lead the team with 5 to 15 members for every project. Projects usually involved in application of AI/Machine Learning with Visualization, Statistics/ Data Mining and a lot of Modelling Procedures. It also involves Predictive Analytics and other analytics requirements depending on the requirements of the project. Some of my side initiative role is to lead the SAS Infrastructure Data Center of Accenture. During his stay at Accenture, he is also the Data Science capability lead where we train juniors and aspiring data scientist to be more equipped with the requirements of a Data Science. He facilitates bootcamps, trainings and organize learning video tutorials to train the resources while waiting for deployment.
Prior to Accenture, I joined Viu Philippines (A PCCW Company) as a Data Science Consultant for 3 months contract. I also became the Sr. Investment Analyst at Integreon Managed Solution to handle investment analytics by providing insights for stakeholders. I also worked as Business Intelligence Manager at ServiceSeeking Australia. Other previous companies I joined before are The Nielsen Company (Sr. Data Science Executive), Arellano University (University Statistician and Professor), Manila Teachers Savings and Loan Association (Company Statistician), National Labor Relations Commission (Statistician).
I also have teaching engagement from different Universities such as De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, Polytechnic University of the Philippines and Arellano University. I am also a contributing author at UDEMY.COM. An author of a Research and Statistics book.
I have done a projects where Predictive Modelling technique was used. I have also applied Forecasting Techniques in our projects such as Multiple, Linear and Logistics Regression; as well as ARIMA, ARIMAX, SARIMAX and Time-Series Analysis. I have also done Sentiment Analysis. Other projects also used Segmentation Analysis, Cohort Analysis and used Google Analytics for other projects
To become a world class Data Scientist is one of my greatest motivation, but this depends on the company I am going to work with. If the company is aware of the latest technology and that they want to utilize the latest and most advance Machine Learning Algorithm, Artificial Intelligence and the like. I have no option than to master these competencies to help and contribute to this mission and vision
