Hi! My name is Jeroen de Groot, based in the Netherlands, Europe. I'm the founder and proprietor of Digital Rocks, a company that's all about creating and running cool and unique serious games. Check out our website for more info.
Before diving into Digital Rocks about seven years ago, I spent a solid 25 years as a business consultant, mostly focused on business process management. I even had my own company called Process Express and wrote a few books on the topic.
With a didactic background, I've always been puzzled by how organizations struggle to communicate their message effectively, whether it's a strategy, a new idea, or something complex. That's what inspired me to start Digital Rocks back in 2016.
We kicked things off with our first game, "The Battle of Disruption," which is an online board game centered around the theme of Digital Transformation.  It became an instant success! Some years later, as a result of COVID-19, we were compelled to transition our strategy from physical games to the utilization of online games. That turned out to be quite a smart choice (thank you mr. COVID-19 ;-).
Fast forward to the present day, we have launched over 10 new games at Digital Rocks, with the majority of them now being digital/online. As a result of this, the games are independent of time and place, and additionally possess infinite reach, combined with ultimate scalability.
Due to the online nature of our games, it's now a natural progression for us to expand to other continents. We are particularly excited about the capabilities of Learndesk to help us here. Our objective is to bring immense joy and 'learning-effectiveness' to numerous organizations (as well as intermediaries such as consultancies or training companies) through the power of serious games by Digital Rocks.
