Born and raised in New York City (Queens), I was always drawn to the topic of business and finance even at a young age. As a child I was an avid saver, and when I had a chance to apply to high school, I was accepted into the High School of Economics and Finance. I'm passionate about the topics of financial literacy/generational wealth, especially after my father who worked for 30 years in the family Mister Softee business managed to lose our family's entire legacy (from our houses to the business valued at over $1 million dollars) due to poor mismanagement. Thankfully, I made a decision at 17 that my father's decisions didn't define me and that I'd do the opposite of what he did and be a good steward over my finances. I started building credit at the age of 18 and purchased my first home at 25. I was the first in my family to graduate from college and the first to purchase a home after my family was forced to sell ours in 2006 to avoid foreclosure. In my homeownership course I share my process of what I did to prepare for homeownership along with lessons learned and best practices so you too can be successful in your homeownership journey.Ā To connect with me, visit jeneem.com.
