When Steve first heard a drum kit being played live the sound just amazed him. He starting playing on some tins as a teenager and eventually got a kit at age 20yrs and decided to dedicate himself to drumming.
He didn't realise where that journey would take him, what he would learn about himself in the process and that he would eventually play and teach the drums professionally for the rest of his adult life. Over those years he has had the pleasure to play with many great and well known musicians (and lovely people), hundreds of different bands and travelled to play in many countries across the world.
His great respect for the long tradition of drumming has encouraged Steve to share what he has learnt along the way with others. He has taught in schools, colleges and at University level and had the opportunity and satisfaction to share the skills and knowledge he has gained. He has been available to privately coach many drummers of all ages and abilities with some even going on to become excellent successful professional drummers and teachers themselves.
The single thing that inspired Steve in the early days, was that although he did not have the skills necessary at the beginning, he had the self-belief that with effort, by applying himself and developing his drumming ability he could find out what it takes to be a successful drummer. In a nutshell Steve says "following a successful course, learning the right skills and with regular practice and dedication you can achieve drumming success beyond your dreams".
It's a unique journey, full of interest and adventure and Steve is now sharing his knowledge, experience and skills and with others starting out on that journey.
