Dr. Laura Mae Lindo (she/her/elle) is a respected activist and educator who holds both a Masters and PhD in Education. A knowledgeable advocate and a respected ally to vulnerable communities, Dr. Lindo uses her personal experiences of joy and loss in a variety of areas as a catalyst for devoting her energy to building a more just and caring world.
Dr. Lindo is a courageous public speaker who is ready, willing, and able to engage with issues often left unaddressed in the mainstream. Her research background keeps her connected to the post-secondary sector where she continues to lecture and grow. Her work in politics includes a role as Ontario’s Official Opposition Critic for Anti-Racism and Equity as well as Colleges and Universities, and she was also the inaugural Chair of Ontario’s Black Caucus.
Dr. Lindo respectfully acknowledge that she lives and works primarily from her home in Kitchener, Ontario (CANADA) on the traditional territory of the Attawandaron (Neutral), Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee peoples. Kitchener-Waterloo is situated on the Haldiman Tract, the land promised to the Six Nations that includes ten kilometers on each side of the Grand River.
