Julie Davies opened her family's first STR in 1986 and their most recent unit in 2022 while managing and consulting for hotels and long-term care facilities, and teaching university courses about these industries. In 2015, city officials noticed Julie's excellent STR management, happy neighbors, and 5-star reviews. They asked if she would write and teach a course about STR laws and best practices. Officials recognized that too many hosts don't understand regulations and needed a trusted industry professional to tell them how to apply the rules to their STR hosting and management. The 2-day live or online equivalent STR Certification Course has been approved through higher education, real estate divisions for CE, and cities that require STR education for license applicants (and the course receives excellent reviews from students). It's even offered within hospitality management and business school degree programs in several universities. Davies serves on a university task force studying STR governance best practices, and they've identified key elements that are working! She's happy to help stabilize this emerging industry through quality education and work with various lodging and healthcare businesses.
