Background info about this course
The Protection of Personal Information Act was initially passed in 2005. This was a significant shift in how personal information is protected. Originally, private business operators were monitored by various ministries and agencies. When breaches occurred, victims would seek restitution via tort law.
The Japan Act on the Protection of Personal Information, also known as APPI, is an act designed to protect the personal information of Japanese citizens. Anyone who receives the personal data of Japanese citizens must be in full compliance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or risk legal action.

Optional Official Exam to obtain Certificate of Completion (CoC) and Certificate of Registration (CoR)
All students can opt for doing an official GADPPRO Academy (pass or fail multiple choice) exam for this course. For this, an additional due of 100 USD is applicable which includes the exam fee, certificate of completion dues, and certificate of registration dues. This exam can be scheduled by the subscribers themselves. At the request of the student, details will be provided by GADPPRO Academy Exam Services.
After passing the national privacy law exam, candidates will be issued a GADPPRO Academy Certificate of Completion (CoC) plus a Certificate of Registration (CoR) in the EU Register of Data Protection Professionals (EU-RDPP)
