In this class, I work 1-1 with students to expose them to the building blocks of coding using the Python programming language. Python is an intuitive, easy-to-learn programming language that allows everyone even kids to build fully functional computer programs for a number of different tasks.
Topic selection for each individual class is based on the specific needs of the student. I am able to cover any of the following topics in a session:
Programming Logic: Kids learn the fundamentals of coding. They learn to decompose, abstract, and modularize.
Input and Output: Kids learn interfaces to enter data and view program outputs.
Functions: Kids learn about the fundamental building blocks of programs.
Applications: A variety of projects including games, image manipulation, and simulations are used to help develop programming skills and thought.
Debugging: I teach kids a systematic approach to solving problems with their code.
