About the Class

What will you learn in this live class?

1) You will expand your visual thinking and develop greater hand-eye coordination.
2) You will experience seeing old things in new ways - and you will connect your inner and outer world in a meaningful way.
3) You will learn the skill of observing the world without naming, labeling, or judging what you see.
4) You will also learn to use your "other" hand to draw out your imagination. (See below examples of both observational and imagination drawing.)

Drawing is an ancient activity that can help us to take charge of our attention. (Our attention is our most valuable asset.) Today our attention is constantly blasted by advertisements, social media, texts, emails, and breaking news. We live in a blizzard of information. Drawing is a safe, effective, inexpensive way for us to free ourselves to pay attention to what matters.

Come. Let's draw out the unique, creative seed that lives deep within our hearts and Soul. Think about this: Holding a pencil and drawing what you see - connects your two valuable senses: touch and seeing. Our outer world is, in truth, an expression of our Inner world. Drawing is a safe, effective, and very ancient way to consciously connect “outer and inner.”

Every class has two or more drawing exercises.

Requirements

  1. Bring graphite pencils (2b, 4b, 8b)
  2. Bring paper (sketchbook or just white paper)
  3. Erasers are accepted.
  4. Bring your attention and a willingness to learn!
