- A collaboration among a handful of propane industry veterans has announced a collaboration among industry educators and trainers for a live, interactive, online, and instructor-led Propane Emergencies training session set for September 7, 2023.
- As of July 25, the initiative involves Shane Sweet, Mike Digiorgio, David Latourell, and Tim Decker.
- The day-long Sept 7 training will begin at 8 a.m. EST and conclude no later than 4 p.m. EST and cover material from the nationally recognized Propane Emergencies Third Edition “PETE” and other material.
- “This class is offered to anyone in the propane industry with an interest in learning about the fundamental issues involving Propane Emergencies,” said Shane Sweet of propaneandoiltraining.com.
Mike Digiorgio, Dave Latourell, and Tim Decker will each discuss certain aspects of the topics, including:
- Physical And Chemical Properties Of Propane.
- Standards, Codes, And Regulations.
- Non-Bulk And Bulk Container Design And Construction Features.
- Bulk Transportation Design And Construction Features.
- Bulk Plants And Bulk Storage Tanks.
- General Emergency Response Procedures.
- Tactical Response Guidelines For Propane Emergencies.
- Product Removal, Transfer, And Recovery Operations.
Taking the next step: considerations for your further involvement in propane emergencies: contacts, credentials, training.
All sections will be supported by video and animation and illustrations.
The group noted that underwriting for the session is available and that selected audience members will be able to attend the session due to the support of underwriters.
Propane associations, propane retailers, and vendors to the propane industry are invited to contact the organizers about underwriting the session for their state propane marketers or customers.
Certificates of Attendance will be issued for those participating.
