Let's use the analogy of one of my Ironman race experiences. I do not go jumping into the water (for the 2.4-mile swim portion) without properly warming up prior to the race. The same goes for any other challenge (occupation, relationships, life, etc.). While these sessions were originally developed and presented with educators (as that's my occupation) in mind; I've found that these principles are universal and can truly help anyone willing to put in the work. Therefore, regardless of why you're taking this class, we'll go under the notion that you're looking for strategies, help, etc. to help endure some of the epic currents life can indeed send your way.
This is only the warm-up session. This is the beginning of your endurance journey. The order of the series is as follows:
1. The Warm-Up Session
2. The Swim Session
3. The Bike Session
4. The Run Session
5. The Cool Down Session
6. The Master's Class
The Warm-Up Session focuses on the following 3-key ideas along with correlating activities:
a. Purpose
*Why is it that you do what you do? Seriously. Your occupation for example . . . what is your purpose in doing this job? Stop aiming at a blank target and discover clarity in your life choices (job, relationship, etc.).
b. Clarity
*While not easy, being present-minded can take away much of our self-evaluation processes (where we often beat ourselves up; getting lost in our mind). Trust me . . . the more you can live in the "Right Now," the happier and more content you'll be.
c. Release
Life is too short to allow people, jobs, etc. that are not adding personal fulfillment to your life. Cliff notes: Dump the clutter from your life before its weight becomes too much.
1. You should have an open mind
2. You should have a true willingness, to be honest with yourself
3. You should have the motivation to truly work hard
