This is a rare chance to see historic photographs, up close and personal, and without frames or glass between you and the images. The Study Room is a private setting where we view a collection of photographs curated especially for us from the vast Getty archives.
At this visit, John Grusd will lead a discussion on the Landscape Photography genre, its history (this is a museum, after all), alternative interpretations of landscape, and where the art form is heading. There will be famous photos that you recognize and images that will surprise and (hopefully) inspire you.
Following the viewing in the Study Room, we will have lunch together at the Café before exploring a few of the museum’s pavilions and exhibitions. And after that, we will explore and photograph the beautiful architecture and grounds, so bring your cameras.
