The NTT INDYCAR SERIES Championship Weekend makes its highly anticipated return to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for the 2026 Season Finale, taking place September 4–6, 2026. Join us to learn how to capture action shots and convey motion. We plan to leave Friday AM and return after the race Sunday night. The drive is 5 to 6 hours, depending on traffic.

The stage is set for a thrilling conclusion to the 17-race season, as the world’s best open-wheel drivers battle for championship glory on one of the most iconic circuits in North America. With Monterey’s coastal climate creating the perfect backdrop, fans can expect heart-pounding speeds, daring overtakes, and unforgettable race drama.

WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca is a challenging 2.238-mile (3.602 km) road course with 11 turns, including the famous "Corkscrew,“ with its six-story drop in a mere 450 feet that was popularized by “The Pass.” Originally constructed in 1957 in Monterey, California, the Pebble Beach Road Races required a safer course. • Book tickets - Link to Event ticketing. I typically book a three-day grounds and Paddock Pass.
• Hotel Reservation - Link to Asilomar Hotel. I usually stay at Asilomar so I can photograph coastal scenery when not at the track. Many other hotels are available, but I would book as soon as you can. Prices during race weekend increase as hotels fill up. You may want to share a room and carpool to reduce outing costs. Food is available on site. 
• TechTalk: We've scheduled a tech talk before the event to discuss shooting how-tos. Information about the event, and answer any questions about the course, event, and capturing motion. We will also discuss shooting locations and how to prepare for the types of shoots you will experience.
