Hello, all welcome back to the next one. In this one we will talk about downloading and installing Eclipse on a Mac system. Let me just quickly bring up the browser. And here I'm going to type Eclipse download. And this is gonna show you multiple options. So just go to the eclipse.org downloads the official Eclipse website.
And on this page, you're gonna see the latest Eclipse version. So for now, I'm seeing Eclipse photon, which sounds like the latest version right now. Whenever you're watching this video, please go ahead and download the latest one you don't really have to stick to eclipse for on whatever you see at the latest, please go ahead with this. I'm just going to click on Download 64 bit because that's what my system is 64 bit and then I would have to again, click on download and it's gonna present me with this option and it's a zip file. So I'm just going to Click on Save. And it should just download it.
What I can do here is I can close it right now. And that's where it got downloaded. The next thing here I can do here is I can just double click it because on Mac, if I just double click a zip file, it's gonna unzip the file. So I'm just gonna double click it, and it brings up the eclipse installer. Then I'm going to double click the eclipse installer, and then select open. It's going to show me a lot of options of what Eclipse you want to download.
So the one that we want here is Eclipse IDE for Java developers, and that's good enough. So there are a lot of options actually. There are a lot of options. Eclipse IDE for Java Enterprise developers, the EA developers, it's the largest one. It has a lot of plugins, but we don't really need all those plugins. What we need here is Java ID, XML editor and Maven Create a Maven integration.
That's pretty much it. So just look for these three things. Java ID, XML editor, and Maven integration. If you have these three with the eclipse ID, then you're good to go. So I'm just gonna click on select. And then it's just asking me where to install.
So users a Eclipse cell phone, you can probably change this location if you want, but I'm just gonna use the default one and click Install and accept all the agreements. And now it's installing Eclipse foundation User Agreement, and again, I'm gonna click on remember accepted licenses and click on accept. So it's just gonna finish the installing pretty quick. Once the installation is done, what we can do here is we can just click on launch and it's gonna bring up the eclipse. That's pretty much it right? So it did take some time.
It's gonna show you options for selected directory as a workspace wherever you want to actually save all your projects. So this is the default option that it's showing. I usually don't save all my projects there. So what I can do here is go to documents, workspace personal. This is the place where I actually save my projects and click Open. So this is gonna make the directory workspace personal as the default workspace for Eclipse.
I'm going to click on launch. So now it just tells me that this workspace was created with an older version of Eclipse. Are you really short you want to update it? So I'm just gonna say yes, I'm sure continue. And it should just bring up Eclipse. So there you go.
It kind of just open all my projects into Eclipse and that's pretty good. So what we can do here is we can just go to eclipse, preferences, and install update and if I click on an install or update software that is already installed, It's just gonna show me what is available on my Eclipse. So here I can see this Maven integration is there and that's what we wanted. So we're all good. Eclipse is all said and done. And that's pretty much it.
Once we have the eclipse installed, we're gonna actually write a lot of code. The lexer is just about installing Eclipse and we have accomplished our task. So thanks a lot for attending this one and I'll see you in the next one. Thanks.
