Now trying to show some real simple posing techniques, number one eyes into camera seems obvious, but it is actually a posing technique, we get someone to look straight into the camera, you're telling them look into the camera. And we're going to contrast that now with eyes away from the camera. So now we've got the subject absolute shooting up slightly here, why am I shooting up, it's compelling, but also, I'm avoiding the backgrounds. I'm avoiding all the noise in the background and maybe some buildings or something. And that subject the eyes are looking out people follow the eyes, the eyes are compelling. So we add one with eyes into the camera and then try one with eyes out of the camera.

Take the same subject in the same place. Eyes in, eyes out. So this is eyes out. Very hard light, very strong. You can see I'm not trying to use a hard light here. really compelling image.

I love this image for the eyes looking out the camera create the interest. So when it comes to posing just subject. Yes, there's some things you can learn about body, but the most important thing is eyes. So here in this image, we're connecting eyes and that creates a compelling image. Because we've got one guy looking at the other guy who's looking at the girl and they're having this conversation. The fourth guy, we can't see that eyes, obviously.

But the connection between the eyes tell us the story, the aware the eyes appointed, we will follow that, when you're shooting multiple people or couples is a really powerful, especially couples looking at each other. That's a really powerful shot. So you might have to tell people sometimes just look at each other look and just chat and thing, and then you can get some interesting images that connect your eyes. Then we've got what we call the in between moments. Now when you're posing a subject, they're going to concentrate on what they think they should look like, how they should appear, and what you want to capture is the issue. In between moments, you want to capture the moments in between when they think they're having their picture taken so capture because that's when you'll catch them making expressions of being natural or laughing or smiling or do something funny.

Because the art with posing people is it get them just act naturally. So they won't do that when they think your photograph is sometimes that's why I like a wonder ledge you can be away and you know, my five D Mark three has a very silent shutter on it. They don't know when I'm taking the picture sometimes. So I'll be telling them I'm taking a picture and then they'll think I'm not because I've taken a picture and I'll take one after I captured them little moments in between. So look out for the in between moments. And again, notice the eyes on this guy's we've got eyes connecting the eyes connects the subject.

You're looking for the unusual, you're looking for the moment I saw this little boy and he's playing with a balloon. If you're wondering what that that line is, it's a balloon. He's just having so much fun. He's pulling it. And there's just this moment when he's pulling in, it's just across his face. And, you know, there's this expression as movement is an in between moment.

And you get this beautiful, compelling, fascinating image. And again, the lights nice and soft if you as you can see a little bit of rim around his hand so you can see where the lights coming from. I'm hoping now you're starting to see light and images. Also, I suggest guys look at people's images, look at the light figure out is that hard, light, soft light is that some rim light going on there and start being able to unlock an image in terms of how it's been lit by looking at it. This absolutely love this capture in the moment. And the same again, this is young girl, and she's just whipped ahead.

So I've been taking pictures and there's this one moment in between where she just turns ahead, she wants to play and the hair flies out. And that's the compelling image. That's the in between moment. So when we think about posing, sometimes sometimes we can worry too much about posing. Yes pose. Yes, get them to do things, get them to look in certain places.

Get them to relax, get them to beat himself. You're looking for the in between moments if you want really compelling, interesting images and you get that when the guard is down
