Design Thinking is an innovative method of producing something due to deliberate human thought. Design thinking is a focused effort to plan or produce something. It involves making a plan to suit a specific purpose or functionality.

Design thinking briefly put, is a creative problem-solving approach. Design Thinking places emphasis on designing products and services with an in-depth observation and understanding of user needs and preferences. Design Thinking is also known by the name, "human Centric design".

Teachers have been using planning for many of their activities to deliver learning to their students. They need to plan their course, content, and delivery. These need to be designed with a view to fulfill the learning needs of students. With the multitude of options for learning available today, teachers face the challenge of choosing the parts and components of their course to be able to work together to produce engaging and purposeful learning.

Teachers need a definite methodology that will also enable them to be creative and adopt innovative ways to teach and engage their learners. Design thinking offers such a platform for the teachers to deliberate and experiment with several choices in teaching to their students.
