We have seen some of the popular learning theories and models of Learning and Instructional design so far. An appreciation of these theories and models help us in adopting an educated approach to Instructional Design for course design and development. Through these theories and models are distinct from each other for the most part, many points often supplement or overlap each other. The theories offer different perspectives on looking at the learning process. The models provide alternative methods of executing the Instructional Design projects. These theories and models provide us with clarity on the actions that we should consider while executing an Instructional Design project. They help us in having an overall view of course design as well as the parts and details therein to be put together.

For the most part, these considerations revolve around 1. the process of design and development of the course, 2. technologies for integration, 3. media and formats for content development, and 4. delivery options.
