DESCRIPTION: There are a lot of things going on during pregnancy and so many strange uncomfortable things are considered “normal”. This makes it even more important to know what is considered a sign of alarm or outside of normal that warrants a message or a visit to your doctor or midwife. Here they are:

Fever >100.4
Vaginal bleeding
Persistent or worsening headache
Blurred vision
Dizziness or fainting
Too weak to get out of bed
Severe abdominal pain
Extreme swelling in hands or face
Swelling, redness, heat, and pain in leg or arm
A gush of watery discharge from the vagina
Decreased fetal movement
Nausea and vomiting that prohibits the intake of nutrients or causes weight loss
Increased pelvic pressure early in pregnancy
Burning with urination
Worsening anxiety or depression
Inability to fall asleep
Thoughts about harming yourself
Overwhelming fatigue
Trouble breathing or pain in the chest
Any symptoms that concern you
