DESCRIPTION: Whether or not you have a c-section the abdominals go through a lot during pregnancy and they are kind of important in stabilizing the spine. Once the baby &ldquo;pops&rdquo; as in is no longer sitting within the bowl of the pelvis, your abdominals have to start stretching to make some room for that kiddo. As the abdominals continue to stretch more and more, you will have less and less access to using them. Eventually, the abdominals go off to Hawaii and start double fisting Mai Tai's, and the brain practically forgets they even exist. So it's no surprise that many individuals will suffer low back pain at some point in their pregnancy or postpartum. While you can&rsquo;t prevent getting diastasis recti (a topic I have an entire module on in the postpartum section), you can try to stay connected to your abdominals as long and as much as possible as well as prevent any unnecessary stretching because let's face it, the minimum amount of stretching needed it quite significant.
