DESCRIPTION: The tenth chapter of the BPC certification program will explore Dr. Abraham Maslow’s psychological theory – Maslow’s Theory of Motivation. The theory is alternatively known as “The Theory of Hierarchy of Needs” and focuses on universal human needs. It was later refined as “Motivation and Personality” in one of these later publications. From understanding the various “human needs” as stated by Dr. Maslow to understanding its implementation in coaching, the chapter proposes an extensive learning experience for the candidate. Maslow’s theory in coaching helps the coach understand their client’s needs at different levels. This allows the coach to build a stronger partnership with their client, integrating a sense of understanding and empathy.
