DESCRIPTION: As human beings, we all have a story to tell. The popular psychology model, Hero’s Journey, delves into that aspect of human life. People’s lives are filled with challenges and overcoming potent struggles while some stories are smooth sailing rides. Despite the kind of life people live, everyone has a story that’s subjective to their life. This is an element that applies to each client that a coach takes up. The eighth chapter of the BPC program explores the side of a coach’s dedication towards listening to their client’s story, picking up on cues, and delegating them with a role of a guide, mentor, and even a friend if that’s needed. This chapter emulates the true journey of life that every person is set out on. Alongside the “Hero’s Journey”, learners are also well-acquainted with one of the most important ICF Core competencies, - evoking awareness (CC7) during a coaching session.
