What To Do When Communicating Difficult Information:

There will be times when your communication skills will be challenged. You may have to pass on bad news from home or give out other unwelcome information. You may have to remove someone from the tour; you may have to inform the group that an excursion is no longer available, that they have to change hotels, and so on.
Passing on very bad news

Keep cool, calm, and collected.
If you have to pass on really bad news make sure you do it in private, and if possible ask someone close to the recipient to be on hand to give support.
At first, the person will be in shock and may not ask all the questions they will want to ask later.
Don't overload them with information right now - give them time to take it in.
