DESCRIPTION:

Never Done This Before?

Public speaking can be nerve-wracking, but it's an important part of being a tour guide. It's a good idea to practice in front of a mirror, then in front of friends until you feel confident. Don't worry about your accent - it's better to sound natural than to use a false 'posh' accent. Aim for clarity - accents can be charming. People want to experience something 'authentic'. Don't be anyone but yourself.
Tip:
Avoid phrases like - quite unique, absolutely impossible, at this moment in time, basically and 'umm' - avoid these in any way, shape, or form.
Don't be repetitive and practice makes perfect. The only way not to keep using 'fill' words while your brain thinks, is to practice. Did I mention practice?
