Example Scenario - Water Safety
You have arranged a canoe excursion on a fast flowing river with a group of 12 adults. You have given your safety briefing (what to do if the canoe capsizes, how to get back into the boat) and have advised everyone to put all their belongings into the watertight drum on the floor of the canoe. Everyone is wearing a lifejacket.
You have to wait until everyone is afloat before you can push your canoe off into the water yourself. Your local river guide is clearly in a hurry to get home, and the group are eager to get started, having spent a long time waiting for everyone to get fitted with a lifejacket. You ask the guide to give his safety briefing at the water's edge before anyone takes off in their canoe, and to give a paddling demonstration and instructions for emergencies in the middle of the river.
