Scenario S
2 couples in your group complain to you that no one met them at the airport on arrival and there was no reply from the local contact number given to them in their arrival pack.
You know that the local agent is responsible for meeting these clients who arrived before the main party. One of the couples had arrived in the middle of the night and they were very upset that there was no one to meet them. They took a taxi to the hotel and were overcharged for the journey - the driver demanded more than he had quoted them, saying it had taken longer than he anticipated.
What will you do?
Contact the local agent and ask them to reimburse the couples for their taxi fares. Report the incident to Head Office on your end of tour report form. Apologise to the couples and explain that there was a misunderstanding or miscommunication. Make sure they have a good room in the hotel and check they are happy with everything else. Solve the problem with a positve attitude.
