Hi guys, and welcome to finger picking for beginners or introduction to finger picking for ukulele. This is really basic introduction to the fundamental rudiments of of playing finger style on the cheek. And so here we get, so we're just going to use some basic chords and concentrate on what we're doing with this hand, Mr rhythm hand today. So if you take your C here and so firstly with finger picking, and it is certainly cognitively much more difficult for most people because now instead of one thing, we're now thinking about four things. Four, I'm four on the on the rhythm side, so thinking about individual notes rather than just the whole call. So we're just going to use some simple chords today to start putting this together.
So I'm on on this side, we're going to use thumb, index, middle ring. Now if you ever want to get anywhere with playing finger style, you must start by being strict about what finger is doing. What if you do everything like this with your most dominant finger and it is bossy, it will try and push in. If you try and do everything with that finger, you won't get very far at all so so we're just going to go through some basic physical exercises to start working start working on this. So with the with the pig with a strong to go down This way or up this way, way to think more about going going in and out. So rather than picking down, push the string backwards, I don't know how well you can see that, but we want to push the string that way rather than that way.
So so you should get back rather than rather than pushing it that way. rather than pushing it down, push it was a soundhole. So first of all, just take your plane, a minor seven, so this time can have a rest and we're going to do um, index, middle ring down So, let's just do that together. So after six, you've got 1-234-563-3456 3456. Okay? So have a practice of that.
Okay, let's put that into a chord progression. We're going to do say, a minor, C, A minor Just see if we can get some fluidity with chord changes 2345656
