Okay, so I just wanted to show you how you can implement this into a song. And mix up the different patterns if you want to, to add texture to what you're playing. So this is an extract from a song called the rough with the smooth. I'm going to use C, G, and a minor chords in the song. And I'm going to use three different rhythmic patterns. So we're going to do thumb index middle ring that we've done earlier in the course, also going to use drum ring, middle index.
And there's a strumming pattern as well which is a minimum pattern. We're going to play to four four You're letting your strong ring out for two to four. So, hopefully that in itself isn't too tricky. It's just mixing them up. That is more challenging. So, let's play it through, and then I'll break it down.
So rough with the smooth we're going to start with 1234 shado gamble she she's got that bro history when you take them take them with this So that's the intro, the verse pre chorus and a chorus from that particular song using three different patterns to add texture to each different section. So let me just talk you through this song sheet. If you have a look at the song sheet I've written intro and then the chord progression in brackets after intro, you've got the picking pattern. So for intro we've got and then G, F and then G. Just do that one more time for the intro. We've got thumb, index, middle and ring 1234 And that goes on to the verse you'll say playing in a song how much the finger picking really cleans up your chord changes. There's quite unforgiving so it's good.
It's good for this hand as well to the back door. So moving on to the pre chorus, we're now using the drums. So you've got two parts Before we go into the course, switching between and something else, I just want to draw your attention to sort of coming towards the end of the verse where you've got to go home. How are we doing? You got four bars in a row there, but the picking pattern changes partway through. So you get two bars of one thing Let's just go over that chain together.
So I'm looking at the F on a loss on a verse over the words on her cheeks of 121234. Strong to work 234 strong. Today the instincts can often be when you know you've got changes coming up, the instinct can be to want to try and change the chord but it's sort of working on what's going on with this. And that can be even though the individual bits might be quite simple switching between this is yet another skill. So I hope you enjoyed playing that that was an extract from Sancho Profit System.
