So you may have noticed that unlike a guitar, the ukulele strings aren't in order of ascending pitch. So on the guitar, you've got the low notes on one side, the low strings on one side and it incrementally increases and goes up in pitch. On the unique we've got our low string or heavy string in the middle. So if we want to have our notes ascending when we play finger picking, and we need to play a different finger picking pattern, this is called the inside out pattern. So you do the two inside ones first, outside ones, so you've got index, middle, index, middle, ring. Now that does feel really weird for this hand to start with, but it is a good way of really strengthening the relationship between the finger and the string that is supposed to look after.
So it's a good way of breaking Western idea that we have that everything's got to be in order. Everything's gonna go in a logical line. So let's just do that together. Remember, we've got thumb, index, middle, and bring looking after to each of those string so you see a thumb index was wearing. So we're going to play our inside out pattern just on your a minor seven, just leave your fretting hand. Be for for now.
So we're going to do one Three T, never sending pitch. So after 41234 worry if you get a little bit flustered, just be great This is a four four pack now. Lovely. So we're going to put that into a chord progression now. So we're going to do so we've got our good old C, F, G, seven, and C. So let's just go over those chords in case you're not sure. So we've got c ring finger on the third fret, F, first finger, first finger on the first fret here, and then middle finger where it would go for a name.
Minor and then for chief seven you can leave that one wherever it is not this one over. Put your ring finger on the outside strings we've got c g7 c. So let's do it nice and slowly so starting with the inside out pattern 1234123 s, g seven C and again c see Let's see that again. 1234 again
