DESCRIPTION: In this section, the prospective teacher of phonics is guided through the steps and procedures involved in impacting these basic skills in his or her pupils/students. Each of the five basic skills is treated in detail, where the course participant is painstakingly taken through the details of how these skills are impacted.
The First Skill (Learning the Letter Sounds )
Here, course participants are taught among others:

How the sounds should be introduced.
The number of sounds to be introduced to learners within specific periods of time.
Activities involved in introducing the sounds both by the teacher and the learner.

The Second Skill (learning letter Formation)
In this part, participants are tutored on the processes and procedures involved in impacting this important skill in their pupil(s)/student(s). These include among others, treating of:

Pre-writing activities.
Pencil-holding-skills.
Actual writing on paper
