The cooperation process

Finding a team of collaborators can be a tricky process. If your network is small, begin by making an easy short film with minimal crew. Use your friends, family, and that one person you know who's acted in a play before. Put all your energy into this project for it will be your calling card. When I began making films, I started as a one-human band then grew by using my first few films as my calling card. When I premiered those films at festivals it gave me a foot in the door to talk to other creators and filmmakers. This is known as networking and it's an important part of the team growing process. 
If you're like me, going to festival parties is a daunting task, especially when you're going in to sell yourself and your project. A great way to avoid uncomfortable networking is by leveraging social media There are a lot of public groups on Facebook that encourage collaboration.
