Anxiety is triggered by fear and cognitive dissonance. Cognitive dissonance occurs when a person holds contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values, and this is typically experienced as psychological stress when they participate in an action that goes against one or more of them.

Cognitive dissonance is mental stress or discomfort; these days, just look around you. It’s everywhere. When the world around you starts to push their energy onto you, not for an open discussion or debate, but a two-paradigm debate. That tug of push and pull will create anxiety in most people.
