Hello, this is Rob here from Rob coven.com. And this is the section that's on websites and blogging, it's possible for some people to get completely the wrong idea of blogging, they might think of it as some sort of diary written by someone who has a very interesting life. However, a blog is a way for a website to put out content. And that content is date based, searchable, and can be ordered by categories and tags. Let me show you what I mean by that. Here is my website at Rob carbon calm.

Now let's click here on where it says blog. Now immediately, you can see articles here on the right hand side. And if you scroll down, you can see more with a headline, a featured image and an excerpt. Now all of these articles are date based. So you see the most recent one first, and if you click on any one of them And then scroll down. You will see that this one is filed under a category called business.

And it has the tags, backup, digital nomad, location independent security and traveling. You can also see that it has 44 comments. Now don't get hung up on the categories and the tags for the moment, but 90% of the time, people will arrive at one of your blog articles on the website via a search engine or via our social network. And they will either leave the site, visit another page or perform an action that you would like, for example, provide their email address in a newsletter subscription form or even better buy a product from you. But it's your job to constantly improve your website so that visitors will stay longer and perform these desired actions, subscribing or buying. Why should you blog Gary Vaynerchuk is an American who's family emigrated from Belarus when he was three years old.

He had a very modest background, his father ran a liquor store in New Jersey. But Gary turned the tiny little liquor store into a multi million dollar enterprise. Just with the help of blogging, and social media, particularly YouTube. He heads a top branding consultancy now, with turnovers of over 100 million dollars a year. Gary says, if you're not putting out stories, then you basically don't exist. And I tend to agree.

Now I believe that most people should blog. And if you're starting a business or you have a message to deliver, then you have to tell that story. And blogging is one of the best ways you can do this today. So why should you blog? The obvious answer is this. You should blog to attract targeted traffic to your website, using your blog articles as bait.

Now this is true, but it's not the only reason. Here are some more reasons why you should blog, you may have experienced positive benefits from writing about stressful or traumatic events. And in the same way, writing about your aspirations will significantly help your motivation. Also, writing helps you order and compartmentalize your thinking, which leads to an improvement in spoken communication with others. Practice makes perfect. Writing is a skill just like anything else.

The more you write, the better you get at it. So blogging is absolutely perfect for this. It's a great skill for an entrepreneur to be able to write. And even better if an entrepreneur can write persuasive text. Now blogging, increasing authority. As a blogger, you are a publisher.

Everything you write can be read by anyone in the world. Now, you might think that any old idiot could start a blog, but most people don't. And if they do, they rarely stick at it, people will see that your articles are being read by others. And this gives you authority. And the authority will increase as your blogging ability improves. Now a blog is also a sounding board ensures that you get a feel for what people like to read your study your blog post stats, and we'll get onto how to do that later.

And you'll realize which sort of blog posts get read the most and which gets commented on the most. And this is priceless information. You are now discovering your audience. And lastly, it works. Its content marketing. If you consistently publish useful and relevant information, you will organically attract an audience.

It's true today as it was 10 years ago, even though Google has made changes And new blogs will find it a little bit harder to get started than they did 10 years ago. If you have a blog, you are at least communicating and the record of that communication will live online forever. So your work will be indexed by the search engines and shared by communities on social network. So your message stands a chance of being heard. Otherwise, your message won't be heard.
