Hello and welcome everyone to this next tutorial by our Roja media, we are going to learn how to animate a pendulum. So let's directly jump into a new Flash file, where we have to start with the drawing of the pendulum first. On the first layer, draw a strap shaped or zante rectangle as seen in the video on which will place the exact registration point. Fill the color you want. Before moving ahead, save the file as pendulum. Add Layer two and draw a vertical line.

Match that line perpendicular to that horizontal strap as seen in the video on the same layer, draw an exact circle. Delete the outline of it and let's change the color Select a radial gradient color for that circle. Press F that is gradient Transform tool to adjust the gradient values, you can follow the video or make your own adjustments to the radial. This is going to be our main pendulum circle groupid and please the circle at another end of the world line as seen in the video. The circle seems a bit too big, so we are scaling it down and again matching it to end of the vertical line. Take all the drawn objects on one layer and convert them into a single graphic symbol.

Now, inside that main graphic symbol, cut and paste in place that box object in another layer and lock the box object layer Extend all the layers up to 35 frames. Select the line and circle and press f8. To convert them into a new graphics in ball. Shift the pivot point of this new symbol to the exact top center of it from where string of the pendulum animation will rotate. Now, let's begin the animation part. On the first frame, rotate the pendulum towards the left.

Placement of the pivot point is helping us to move the pendulum to the mark, press f6 on frame 35 and insert a keyframe to keep the position of the pendulum same on first and last keyframes. Now, insert a new keyframe at the center of the layer that is on frame 18 and move the pendulum exactly at the opposite end of the first position. For that, press Ctrl Alt plus shift plus r two View the rulers and drag a guideline. Match the guideline to the top age of the spear on first frame. And then on the 18th frame, match the sphere stop age to the guideline. Please follow the video for the steps just to be safe.

Right click on the stage area and select guides, log guides to keep them unaffected. Go to the timeline. Select the pendulum frames and add motion to into them. Extend the frames up to 200 in scene one. Delete unwanted layers and preview the animation. You'll notice that the pendulum is moving into an at the same speed like no gravity is working on it.

So let's try to add a more realistic feel we need to add ease in and ease out values to the emotion twin. Select the frames between first and 18th frames and click on the Edit option. On the Properties panel you see a new custom ease in or ease out box. Select each a node and apply the values as shown in the video, moving the node handles. Now, observe the animation of the first half. Apply the same values for the second half.

So again, click on that edit option beside each value and press Ctrl plus C to copy the values. Select the in between frames of the second half of the animation. Click on that edit option and press Ctrl plus V to paste the same values as seen in the video. Exit domain scene and play the animation go to menu control loop playback, so that the animation will keep on repeating. Go inside the animation layers again and switch on the onion skin option and select all the frames. According to the given ease values, we can see the motion of the pendulum and slow fast slow.

Switch on onionskin outline option to see the movement clearly. ease in ease out values were also given as slow fast slow, press Control plus Enter to keep playing the loop of the pendulum animation.
