About the Class

In this course, we’ll explore “RIF right”

I can’t wait to share with you some of my personal experiences and some terming best practices.

  • The acronym stands for a reduction in force. You may refer to it as terminating, firing, separating, or transition. They all mean the same thing.
  • Throughout my career, I have RIF’d many employees. And, I have been RIF’d once myself. No matter what side of the figurative desk you are sitting on, it never gets easier.
  • Leaders who don’t know how to terminate an employee correctly might not give appropriate opportunities for improvement or fail to adequately document the process.
  • Any of these missteps can lead to a disgruntled former employee suing your company as well as a negative impact on employee morale or your company’s reputation in the community.

In this course, I will share with you the best practices on how to RIF right.
