This week the behavior issue we will work on is Leave It / Drop It. Owners are often unclear when trying to communicate these commands to their dogs. You must be crystal clear to the dog with what you are asking.

• Leave It – the “thing” is not in your mouth, but you are showing interest in it.
• Drop It – the “thing” is now in your mouth, and I want you to spit it out.
