DESCRIPTION: 
Training your dog begins with recognizing the ways dogs learn and the things dogs need. This is the basis of your communication. Your dog does not speak English, and you do not speak dog. Dogs understand the world firmly through the senses; body language, smell, and sight. They have a unique way of communicating both within their species and with us.
Science has made some amazing discoveries in canine communication. I totally encourage you to do some internet research to learn more. (See my references page for inspiration.)
Our lessons focus on teaching your dog English. You may have personally experienced the challenge of learning a new language. Imagine the struggle for your dog. Clients often tell me, “My dog is not very bright and just can't learn these things.” This is absolutely not true. We fail our dogs by giving up. Do not give up.
