Storytelling is a really vital part of any speaking, there's almost no speech that I can think of that doesn't benefit from a good story or three. Try not to do too much tell in your speaking facts and logic are great and will appeal to at least half the audience. As I explained in I prepare, but you need to include stories if you really want to be engaging. It's been shown that stories engage more parts of the brain. And that's how you can get better at storytelling as well is to think about the different parts of the brain that are involved. Things like emotion, memory, and all of the senses.
If you want to tell a good story, you need to include the senses and sensory information when you're telling it. So when you tell a story, think about what did it feel like? What was the temperature what was the weather What was I seeing what color was there? What noises what smells, you know, it needs to have a certain color to it. And don't be afraid to slow down and enjoy those things. You can't indulge in this forever and it's beat but you pick your moments when you slow down, slow time down and really pick out some elements of what you're seeing or hearing or smelling around you in this story.
And I think you'll find that that will help it to be more engaging.
