Part 1 lesson 1: Creating a positive difference
The power of thought is our first power tool. We have heard the expression, &ldquo;A man is what he thinks&rdquo;, or &ldquo;You become what you think&rdquo;, sometimes referred to as the self-fulfilling prophecy. If you think poorly of yourself and any of your abilities, this will affect your self-image and self-esteem, as well as how you perform in any of those ability areas. You may have feelings of uncertainty, sometimes even accompanied by anxiety. The converse is also true: as you begin to foster positive thoughts about yourself and areas of your abilities, you begin to develop confidence and positive regard for yourself and your abilities.
Survey your thought patterns about yourself, about others around you, and about various situations, e.g. the environment in which you live and work, and some of the social situations that you may find yourself in. Then survey by reflection: &ldquo;How do I feel and think, of and within...
