DESCRIPTION: Pelvic pain is a broad term for pain anywhere in the pelvic region. This includes the tailbone, sacrum, pubic bone, perineal, vaginal, and anal pain. I would also include a deep low abdominal ache. Hip and low back pain can also either refer to the pelvis or the original within the pelvis.
It can be experienced with sex, exercise, pooping, peeing, sitting, standing, sleeping, walking, and sleeping so pretty much anything. It can be dull, sharp, electrical, burning, stabbing, or hard to describe. Unlike most parts of our body, we can&rsquo;t see inside our pelvis and pelvic pain is often unlike anything else because our perception of the inside is different than the outside.
Contributors to pelvic pain include but are not limited to pelvic floor tightness and weakness which is often associated with our posture and breathing patterns, hormones, lubrication, alignment, and stress.
