DESCRIPTION: Initially, your primary goal is to let the incision heal which means avoiding any stretching of the abdomen and trying your best to minimize contraction of your abdominals. What this looks like is minimizing reaching overhead, avoiding lifting and trying your best to move your hips and shoulders together in all your day-to-day movements.

While the scar is forming a scab, coming together and healing you want to avoid producing any discomfort in the area. This is your signal that you are pulling on it and you don&rsquo;t want to pull on it so that it is able to come together as quickly as possible. It is not a sensation to push through, yet.
