In this tutorial, you will get introduced to the basics of fabric animation by creating an animated Flag. As in the Fire tutorial, you will learn to utilize the Shape Tween and Shape Hints facilities to achieve a very realistic Flag Waving effect.

Hello, and welcome to a special effects tutorial from Aruba media. In this assignment, we are going to see flag animation. Let's begin by pressing Control plus and to create a new document. Draw a rectangle by pressing shortcut key R. Delete the outline. Drag the points of the rectangle outside on top and bottom by pressing Control to make the flag wavy, add curves to it as seen on the screen. On the 25th frame, add a keyframe and insert shape to in.

Then, by going to the first keyframe, add for shape ins ABCD by pressing shortcut key control plus shift plus edge plays the shape hints at the four corners, match the same hints on the 25th keyframe. Now add two more hints E and F plays the E hint at the bottom, and F hint at the top on the first keyframe to the site of hint A and B respectively, as seen in the video. Now go to the 25th keyframe and change the position by moving it close towards C and D hints. Here we have a slight animation effect to the flag. insert new layer draw another rectangular pattern. and delete the outline.

To view the patch clearly. Keep the flag animation layer on outline mode on, give the same curves to it as we did it for the previous rectangle using selection tool. insert keyframe on 25th frame and insert shape to add for shape ins ABCD and match it by going on the last keyframe. Now on first keyframe, add one more hint II and move its position on 25th frame to animate only one side. Right click to create mask. The reason for adding mask to the top patch is to animate the front portion of the flag in shape.

The flag animation is visible in order to increase the speed of the flag. It's length shortcut shift plus f5. To make the movement of the flag, very slow, increase the length to 50 frames so that it will complete one cycle into second. Again, come back to the length of 25 frames, that is one second. Keep the outline mode on for the upper patch. Select the upper layer when the outline mode is on.

Slightly move the hint the animation disappears in the case. If the hint is not matched, change the position of IE. The animation is visible as the hints are matched Now, press Control plus Enter to preview the flag animation is ready now. make some changes to get the desired result. By keeping the hint aside, change the shape remove the last keyframe and again in inserted so that we get the first key, now again plays the hints. The new shape is animated.

The End portion of the flag is animated in a different way. by experimenting, we get the desired result. Lastly, save the file. Now we move to the next assignment. Thank you
