If I am going to burn a stick of incense, I should not become filled with zeal and light it before thinking of its purpose and placement. 

First, I'll determine why I am burning it. 
Then, I'll decide where it should be. 
Then, I'll steady the thing which is to hold the stick.
Next, I'll position the stick of incense in a position that will hold firmly.
Finally, I can light the incense.
