Welcome back to a new lecture where we'll be going over all my favorite little mini Strategies for Success. These little tips are small but mighty, they're like pint sized powerhouses, these will boost your productivity levels out of nowhere, and are really quite surprising and how well they work. And as you can tell, I love these. So let's get right into it. First up is my personal favorite, which is what I call timeboxing. Some people like to call it a power hour or a power sesh.
It's essentially when you plan out a specific amount of time, where you are going to do absolutely nothing but one task during that time. It's typically used when you have a big task that needs to get done, and you really don't know where to start so you end up not starting on it or you end up starting really slow timeboxing makes you plan out a specific timeframe to do nothing but try and put a dent in the overarching task. Doesn't matter how far you get, but it's meant to just play that a lot of time into it and just to see where you get. So for example, let's say your task is to eat an entire pizza. Yummy. It's a pretty hard task yourself.
But when you time box, your goal is to just put a dent in it. So I would schedule out, let's say from five to 6pm. I'm going to do nothing, no TV, no emails, no phone calls, no nothing, but try and eat this entire pizza. Then at the end of the hour timeframe, let's say I only end up eating two slices. That's okay. Because we started on the bigger project, and we made some progress.
That's what matters. Also, side note only eating two slices of pizza is weak. I love pizza, and I would probably demolish this thing. But anyway, getting back on track Next up is telling the entire world. Okay, this is an interesting one. Tell your mom, dad, siblings, friends, coworkers, and dogs tell everyone and anyone what your goals and tasks our reason being is because it's exponentially harder to let Others down over yourself.
When you tell others your commitments and what you plan on doing, they end up holding you accountable, not because they want to hold you accountable or they want to be naggy, but because they want to check in on the progress and see how you're doing. They want to take part in your success. And if you keep telling them that you aren't progressing very well, then they'll naturally kick you back into gear. Surprisingly, this strategy does wonders. Next up is planning ahead. I know this sounds simple, but most people constantly forget to apply this when it comes to time saving techniques.
If you have tasks you can complete on your phone or on the go save them. We're talking simple emails or text messages. Please don't do those immediately. You don't want to waste valuable time when you could be working on more pressing topics. Wait until a delay happens in your day because the delay is inevitable. Okay for example, waiting in line at a coffee shop or waiting for food or car rides etc etc.
The list goes on and on. Bottom line plan ahead to save time when necessary. Lastly, delegate. I cannot say this enough delegate delegate delegate. Everyone thinks they have to do it themselves if they want it done right? Well, for 90% of tasks, that is not true.
Okay? figure out some simple tasks and delegate those to others. We'll dive into this topic in much more depth later on in the course, but start thinking about what tasks you can get someone else to do for you. This also kind of goes hand in hand with nuking activities. There's just things that you really just don't need to be wasting your time on. But that yet again, will bring us to the end of this lecture.
Hopefully you like these little mini strategies. I think sometimes concepts can be a little overwhelming at times, and sometimes concepts are a little too intense. So simple is better sometimes when it comes to being efficient. So use these bomb strategies when your life starts to get hectic. They've pulled me out of some really brutal situations, and I know that To help you too, but onwards Let's learn some more about maximizing our time in the next lecture.
