Welcome back, we'll be going over the first component of tempo methodology, which is test. So let's get started. Now the best part about this methodology is the fact that it's actually quite simple test is exactly what it sounds like. It's time to test your current time management skills and make detailed notes as to how much time you are allotting to each activity. I'm going to show you an example of my recent test in just a second, then I want you to actually create one as well. Okay, so here is my notes from the test on Monday, July 16.

Now, these notes are ridiculously dumbed down in basic, I just want to get the point across right now. Okay, so there's no point in having my incredibly detailed notes in lengthy notes, as it would be just really distracting for you right now. I'm just trying to get the basics across. But essentially, you want to write down every single task, you do. When you do it for a single day, you can either do it hardcopy in a notebook or journal or you know, any type of diary or an Excel, which is what I like to use because I'm pretty much always on a computer. Now, again, we want these nodes super detailed.

I usually use 15 minute intervals on Excel, but it's up to you, the more detailed and accurate you are, the better the results will be. But okay, let's run through these notes really quick. On this day, I woke up at 5:30am and did the usual morning activities to get ready for work. Then I drove to work and proceeded to be at work for the next 10 hours again, you wouldn't just write work during this time you would write specifically what you were doing while at work. Are you in meetings, are you sending emails, etc, etc. increasing efficiency at work is huge.

I choose to work 10 hours a day because I get bonus commissions. So the more efficiently spent time I spend at work, I get compensated for it. Very nice. See, which again is awesome. Now, keep in mind, most people shorten their work day with this tempo methodology. Again, it really just depends on a per person basis, which is why we start out by taking super detailed notes because everyone's lives are different.

Anyway, I left work this day at 4:30pm and went to the gym, came home, prep some YouTube work made Nate dinner, then banged out my YouTube workload in about two hours. Then I spent a little bit of time working on my social media agency. Keep in mind during my commute each day, I usually am on the phone for the agency as well. So the agency workload has become extremely streamlined for me these days, which is very nice because it requires very little time, but don't really worry, we'll be going over how I accomplish this throughout the course. And again, at the end of the day, I spent you know about an hour working on this course because believe me, developing online courses takes longer than you think so an hour really isn't that much time every single day but honestly I went to bed and look I got about seven hours of sleep in this 24 hour window, man, nothing too crazy, just notes on how my Monday went.

Now we have this information. And it's kind of fun to look at and go, Wow, I did a lot today, or Whoa, I didn't really do anything today. But this step in tempo is all just about gathering the data. Now, I then take this data and turn it into a pie chart, you can use different categories that fit your lifestyle, but currently, I'm striving for pure productivity increase. So I broke it up into these four categories. We got sleep, productivity, fitness, and then miscellaneous activities like you know, driving, eating whatever else.

So on this day, I had about a 58%, productivity slice of the pie. And honestly, that's not a bad day at all. I try to strive for about the 55 to 65% range during the work week. And again, this testing phase is just about notes right now. This pie chart is just another way to turn the data into information that we can use. When we get to the evaluate phase, uptempo, these categories are very subjective right now, for example, some people might think that fitness is seen as being productive.

And it is, but it's up to you to make these different segments because again, everyone's lives are different, and everyone's goals are different. But I think it's important to say right now, I say this a million times because often people get way too excited, including myself, and they jumped the gun before they get a good amount of data to use. So again, this phase of tempo is just all about gathering the data, test your life and take notes. That's really it. Keep it simple. Okay, so now I want you to create a detailed set of notes that entail your entire day.

But remember, when I said I want you to finish a whole section in one sitting, yet, that still holds true. So I want you to finish this entire section. Before you write down your detailed notes. of the day, and I want your first test to be today. Today, the day you're watching this lecture, no jump starts on trying to have a better day because you know you're taking notes on it. Nope.

I want you to see the results of today, before you were aware of tempo methodology. I do realize that this first says might not have as detailed of notes, because you know, you weren't really writing them down as the day went on. No biggie though. This is the first time also, I want you to keep these notes for a long time. So you can compare your day today to the day that occurs next month. And that'll pretty much wrap up the first phase of tempo methodology though, test, simply test that's it.

So continue on and finish this entire section before you start jotting down your notes from the day. So I'll see you in the next lecture.
