DESCRIPTION:
We can choose what we visualize and why. Some visualizations improve our memories, other visualizations increase our resilience and allow us to deal with complex challenges. The same visualization skills can be applied in different situations.
When we need to memorize texts, we use annotation or its mental equivalent. We "highlight" the most important words in the text and try to use a visualization based on these words. The key highlighted words then become "markers", while other highlighted words generate context or theme and details.
When we try to deal with emotional challenges, the main emotionally charged visualizations are usually called "anchors", while details typically reinforce the anchors and connect the anchors to the specific context of the challenges we face. If the information we need is very important for us, we can add emotional context to the markers transforming them into anchors.
