Regulations require that all hazardous substances be labeled with the statement Keep Out of the Reach of Children. Not all products are hazardous, but when directions are not followed some of these products become dangerous and some are more dangerous than others. The most frequent misuse is accidental swallowing by curious children. Therefore, never transfer cleaners into soft drink bottles or other containers that may seem harmless to children.
Keep cleaning products in the original packaging. Buy products in childproof containers and store them in cabinets with childproof latches. Many household cleaners are stored under the kitchen sink in cabinets that are not locked. This is the worst place to store household cleaners. If this is the only place where you can store cleaning products, put safety latches on the cabinets and drawers.
