Hi, I'm Tony factory. Thank you for joining me today on this video blog titled How to Overcome self doubt. This is a video further to the article which I put up on my website this week, which discusses the same topic. So I wanted to pick out three main points that I feel are relevant as we're discussing the idea of self doubt. And the first topic is stop feeding the doubt and it's probably obvious, but we need to stop feeding the doubt when doubt emerges. The more attention the more energy and mental energy we give it, the more life It takes on.

So avoid participating there with the voice inside your head. Listen thoughts are just thoughts and I've mentioned this in previous videos in also Through my articles, it's the moment that we assign meaning value and energy to those sports, that they become runaway thoughts that they take on a greater impression in our mind and then turn into disempowering emotions, so we mustn't feed those thoughts. It's only once we believe those thoughts that they can overpower us. And for those of you who have seen the film, A Beautiful Mind starring actor Russell Crowe, you might remember the scene in which john Nash, the character played by Russell Crowe realizes that he's fought true as it relates to the scene with the young girl who doesn't age. And so in order to overcome he struggled, he realizes that he can put the brakes on he Thoughts because they're in a repetitive cycle.

And so he manages to break out of this cycle by realizing that there is no longevity to that girl that she never ages. And so and in doing so he's able to break that cycle. And so we can take a look from that film insofar as we can see and test the validity of our thoughts, we can examine our thoughts to see whether there's any underlying current or any validity to those thoughts, and examine examining those thoughts means to test them to see if they are true, rather than accept them as real. Most people believe because they are having a thought that they must be true. And it goes back to that old adage I think, therefore I am. So we mustn't buy into those thoughts.

We mustn't feed those thoughts. So The second point relates to overcoming the inner critic. And so in order for us to overcome the inner critic, we must be attentive to that voice, yet take action in spite of it. So this alone flames out in a spirit when we take inspired action, and it also awakens our potential to follow through, even when your thoughts advise otherwise. So what tends to happen is that when the inner critic tells us that we're not worthy, or that we're not good enough, or that we'll never be successful, we have one or two choices, buy into it, feed the doubt, or we can take inspired action. And you might have read Susan Jeffrey's book that talks about feel the fear and do it anyway.

And so the whole notion is take inspired action, even in the face of doubt, even in the face of fear. It's only when we take inspired action that we overcome. The inner critic, we overcome the doubt, we stop feeding that doubt. Because we walk into the doubt we walk into the fear as opposed to running away from it. And that's an important component. And the third point is realized the purpose of doubt.

And I think this is an important consideration. What does that serve? How does that come up in our life? And what value what meaning does it serve in a life in order for us to understand it, and effectively that serves to help us overcome our self imposed limitations. It signals that somewhere in our life that we have reached the crossroad and that we have gone as far as we can, whether it's through our thinking, actions, or our emotional well being or emotional constitution is that we need to examine it. So for me personally, it means sit myself down, put my bag down my backpack, examine what is going on in my life right now, what areas of my life?

Do I need to be attentive toward? What do I need to stop feeding negatively? And what do I need to reinforce through positive thoughts, positive actions in order to pick up my bag and continue on my journey. So it's not an obstacle, it's a hurdle. It's a speed bump. And as you know, when you're driving speed bumps are not meant to stop you but allow you to slow down and survey your environment before continuing ahead.

And so I invite you to take the same inspired action and that is survey your environment. stop feeding the doubt see what the data is inviting you to look at, and then proceed. So when we take inspired We cancel out the doubts by turning down the narrative, which ultimately weakens. And so, effectively what we do is turn down that narrative turn down that value. And as we step into it, as we step into the doubt the fear we take inspired action. Ultimately over time, we weaken it's great, it lets go It has no further action than to diminish then to dissolve.
