Hi, I'm Tony factory and welcome to another video blog series. Thank you for joining me. Today's topic is understanding your emotions. And emotion is energy in motion. And so essentially the word implies that the feeling, the emotion that you are charged with, is making its way through your body. And so when we experience emotion such as fear, sadness and anger, there's a tendency to suppress or push against that emotion of us, not allowing it to move through the body.

And in doing so, what you're doing is pressing up against that emotion and so the emotion presses against you. And so there's this constant battle between you. And if we look at an exam and what the emotion is asking of us, it's really just a seek expression to move through us, and allow us to experience a vital lesson. So suppressing your emotion leads to more of the same emotion. A really good analogy that I came across years ago was, imagine a pit you're standing at the beach, and there's a big hole, there's a rope and there's you and the emotion standing on the other side, and you're both pulling. And so the more and the harder you pull, the harder the emotion pulls because it really doesn't want to fall into this pit that's been dug out.

And so at some stage, if you keep pulling, the emotion is going to pull you into the pit at some stage because it'll overwhelm Knew with the intensity. And so that's a really good analogy for you to consider when emotions or unwanted emotions begin to start showing themselves in your life. A really good principle is using self examination and to seek what is the emotion asking of me. In most cases the emotion is asking the opposite and that is, fear is inviting courage and and love and fight. It's asking you to see the opposite. And and our world our life is filled with a sense of duality that black and white the Yin and Yang, night and day.

And so there is an opposite meaning when an emotion such as fear presents itself in your life. Do not think for a moment that that fear is there to frighten you to stop you to thwart you in your path. It's asking you to look at the opposite aspect of that, and begin to seek and move toward it. And the last point is, feel the emotion, be with it, experience it, observe it. And once you've you've been with the emotion, no matter how hard it is, and let it go. There's a great Buddhist saying that says, you know, if we're carrying the emotion around much like a backpack, just drop the emotion, put the backpack down.

If I gave you a hot piece of coal and said, this is the emotion of fear, what would you do with it? I know what I'd do, I'd drop it. And so in most of these unwanted emotions, it's asking you to seek expression or drop the emotion.
